The COCHECHO CHALLENGE, Dover’s only Half Marathon Road Race
The Cochecho Challenge Half Marathon is more than just a race in a scenic location. It is an event that helps to maintain and support First Parish Church and its missions. The church and its parishioners actively support the community in partnership with the Red Cross, the Boy Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, and Alcoholics Anonymous, among others. Through giving and volunteer efforts, First Parish seeks to faithfully serve our local and global community as part of our calling as Christians.
The building itself is more than just bricks and mortar. It houses the Dover Food Pantry, the Find it First thrift shop, hosts blood drives, a variety of concert series, and community group meetings. It also serves as a polling place for Dover voters and continues the centuries old traditions of crisis and community services. Additionally, the building which has stood since 1829 is on the National Register of Historic Places. Its prominent white steeple and clock tower serves as a landmark for the community, and must be maintained and properly restored as part of its historic nature.
We invite you to support the preservation of a piece of Dover’s rich history either through participating in Dover’s only half-marathon, the Cochecho Challenge, or through a tax deductible monetary donation. A confirmation letter will be sent to you as a record of your donation. Please include your name and return address with your check. Donations can also be made online at the time of registration via credit card. Maximize your donation’s value by choosing the Cochecho Challenge this year, and have peace of mind that the race is made possible entirely through volunteer efforts.
